God has given us a special symbol that reflects not only His Creatorship but also His special relationship with us. In this lesson we will explore what the Bible teaches on this very important topic.

+ Note: God blessed the seventh day so that it would be a blessing to His creatures, then He made it holy. In other words, God proclaimed the seventh day to be a special day to continually remind man of his beginnings, his roots. God created the world in six days and then rested on the seventh day. Notice the Jewish nation had not yet been formed. God created the entire human race at this time.

This word literally means “traducer.” It is defined as a false accuser or as one who slanders, misrepresents or maligns. But where did the devil come from and why hasn’t God destroyed him? We shall find the truth surrounding these questions once again in the reliable word of God.

And we learned that we begin to trust God by reading His word, praying to Him and trusting Him with our life. Are you interested in growing spiritually? You cannot grow by focusing on growth. Probably nothing is more detrimental to spiritual growth than to be constantly checking yourself for fruit. Is your goal to reach the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ?” (); Do you sometimes wonder whether you are growing at all? There’s one sure way to tell. Look at whether you are eating. Isn’t the way to grow spiritually to partake of the Bread of Life? In this lesson we shall learn how to grow in our Christian faith. Are we to depend on Christ for salvation and then on our own works thereafter? What does God expect of me? What part of the process does God play and what part do I play?

It’s not unusual for us to waver like this in our faith as well.

How does this work of conversion begin and what is my role in it? We shall see more clearly as we begin our study on surrender.

We receive this righteousness of Christ’s when we give up on trying to obtain salvation by our good works or behavior and surrender our will to God.

In this lesson we will explore what the Bible teaches about conversion and repentance.

+ The cross was invented approximately 600 years before Christ by the Phoenicians. It was then adopted by the Egyptians and later the Romans who refined it and used it to execute runaway slaves and their worst criminals. Crucifixion was the most painful and shameful instrument of execution ever practiced by man. It would typically take between three to seven days to die on the cross. Gangrene would form in your hands and feet where rusty nails have pierced. The pain would be excruciating as every joint of your body felt torn apart. Death ultimately would come by suffocation. You could not exhale without raising your body up. And when you did the pain was unbearable. In the shame of nakedness you were exposed to the cold at night and in the daytime you were exposed to the heat. But what is it that makes Christ’s death the supreme sacrifice above all other deaths? Many martyrs have suffered horrible deaths, some in ways that at least outwardly appear more agonizing than the death of the cross. In this lesson, we will explore these and other questions.

He said God warned him of the consequences of not obeying and that if he refused, the light would be given to someone else. Being fearful of ridicule, he refused to relate the vision. Then, very strange feelings came to him, and a voice said, “You have grieved away the Spirit of the Lord.” Horrified at his own stubbornness and rebellion, he told the Lord that he would relate the vision, but when he assembled a company of Christian believers, he could not remember the vision. + Conclusion: God wants us to live in peace and love with one another. This love can only come from God. And it is yours for the asking. God wants us to be direct and honest with each other. When we are faced with a conflict, pray and ask God for wisdom in the matter. If we have caused injury to someone, we need to go to the individual and ask for forgiveness. If someone has harmed us then we need to go to that person and, praying beforehand, spell the problem out for him or her. Remember, diplomacy and tact are extremely helpful. Try to think of something positive to tell them so that they are not automatically put on the defensive. If they ask for forgiveness, you need to forgive them. Now, before the world will be destroyed by fire, can we expect a special message of pleading and warning to earth’s inhabitants that will prepare a people for this great calamity? Absolutely! In our last study we learned that the Sabbath is a memorial of God’s creative power and that it would be a special sign or seal of His people in opposition to the mark of the beast. We also learned that there would be an “unholy trinity” that would usher in the sign of the anti-Christ or mark of the beast. So far we learned that Satan was the cornerstone of this trio and that the beast (nation) of Revelation 13 is Papal Rome. Now we will learn who or what will complete this evil plan.

He wanted to dispel this error and show the mercy and compassion of God on all suffering humanity. Satan causes suffering but God can allow or overrule for purposes of mercy.

There is no hardship on the departed one, for they are not conscious of passing time. They fall asleep and the next moment (so it seems) they awake and are reunited with their loved ones and Jesus.

Do we come to Christ in order to repent, or do we repent in order to come to Christ? We cannot repent of anything UNTIL we come to Christ. Repentance is something we receive. It is a gift from God. We come to Jesus and He grants us a spirit of repentance and then forgives our sins. We do not cleanse ourselves in order to come to Christ. Instead we come to Christ and then HE does the job of cleansing us.
